How To Do Power Of Attorney

In New York State, both the sellers and purchasers are required to attend the closing in person. In the event that the party is unable to attend, they may issue a power of attorney to authorize an agent to sign on their behalf.

The agent must be competent, of legal age, and capable of understanding and signing legal documents. This ensures a smooth closing process, even if the principal cannot attend in person.
